Smile Today

I must love to look at smiles.  I really must.  I’ve been looking through this folder of old poetry and smiles are popping up everywhere.  Of course, there is sorrow and broken hearts aplenty, but those smiles are off the charts!  I have one thing that makes me smile while you would think it shouldn’t.

I am a sinner saved by grace.  I have a life that is resting securely in the arms of my savior, the one who took my place on that cross.  I struggle every day with the old desires, but I have help!  God has given his word that he will never leave or forsake me, that because I love him, all things (even the tough stuff) will work together for my good.

That doesn’t mean everything will be peachy-keen and I’ll get everything I want, but it does mean that I will continually be made into the likeness of Christ, every day (hopefully) being sanctified.  It also doesn’t mean I won’t mess up and say or do things I shouldn’t do, things I don’t really want to do because I know that it hurts and offends the one I love, but it does mean that mercy and grace are mine.  Daily I will turn to the love of Christ, the gift he gave, the most amazing one that we celebrate at this time of year.

I’m a sinner.  I’m saved by grace.  His merciful gift of grace is free for all mankind.  No matter what you have done, no matter who you are, no matter what you think, His love is free and real and true and good.

He is Risen.

God Bless

I see your smile each day

And every time I pray

That God bless you always,

Be in you for all days

And guide your paths straight on.

He is with you at dawn

God won’t leave you at dusk

For Jesus is our life

He died and took our strife

It makes me smile inside

Knowing in Him abide

My dear and good friends

Who smile each day to me

And make me always see

What Jesus did for me.

And Every time I pray

That God bless you in every way.

I hope you have a smile to share today!

Someone needs to see it!
