God’s Loving Kindness for Us

(so this is a comment I wrote that I left on a friend’s blog (maybe five or six years ago) that I wanted to copy into my blog because I want to remember what I said for my OWN good and if you want to read it and make comments or just enjoy (or hate ) it, then that’s awesome, too! )

Ok, Friend! 😉 I know we kind of discussed this before, but I’ll just say some more. God is a God of loving-kindness, grace and mercy. He is also perfect and the judge of mankind. He did not create us to hate us or punish us unduly. He created us for His glory and to love him in return because of His ultimate loving-kindness. We are given free-will to make choices about that love, otherwise it wouldn’t be our choice to make and we’d be robots to God. He doesn’t want robots. He wants us to seek after His heart, His will.

God is in control of all things. Don’t ever forget that He never is left without power and His plan is never thwarted. God will use any decision you make in His plan (at this point I will not say, “for your life” as we hear so often because it is not about YOU or ME. His plan is about proving His love and His glory). He will use all your decisions, whether right or wrong for the life that you lead, so apologize and repent for the past, don’t worry about the future and this day, this very day focus on glorifying and praising God. Spend time reading your Bible, HIS VERY WORD and BREATH, seek repentance and follow Him in FAITH.

If you love God you will want to see His Glory shine above all things and when you mess us you will fully repent and turn from that sin. We all sin, every day we will sin in some small or large way, but don’t let yourself dive head-first and wallow in it like the stinking pigs do in the mud on a hot day. Sin may feel good for a season, but it will only leave you covered in Poo and Mud, weighed down by your own conscience and subject to the very whim of Satan. SO: Seek God first and His righteousness and he’ll take care of all your needs (paraphrase from Matt 6:31-34 NKJV).

Other stuff… well, all our actions produce consequences. Think before you act. Ask yourself, “Does this glorify God or at the very least, would He be ok with this?” and ask, “Am I doing this because it will make God (and maybe even me, too) happy or am I doing this without care and only to make myself happy (which will only be for a season)?”

I mess up every day, Friend. I wish I could say otherwise. You’ve likely seen me at my worst and you still love me, yet there are consequences to every action I make. God will make sure I learn from my mistakes, so if I continue to sin without change and repentance then the consequences would eventually be very great and grave, indeed. You see, even in our sin, God loved us enough to send His son to die for us so that by Jesus’ blood we could be redeemed and God, who is perfect and holy and Just, could look upon us, the ones he created and loves. Yes, God loves us, even at our worst and in our sin; even when we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, God loves us enough to let us learn from our sins and mistakes and when our faith grows through trial it only proves the presence of the Holy Spirit in our souls.

Take comfort in Christ and a growing faith when in trials and when in good times. I am praying for you and know that regardless of your choices, God reigns on high. You take comfort in that, too and make it your every day desire to see His Glory shine and all your choices will be lead in the right direction. Read God’s Word, spend time in prayer, fellowshipping with Him and when you have trouble with a decision on your own after this, speak with a Christian you know, trust and who is also spending time in God’s word and prayer.

I know God will use your life and He will give you the strength you need to withstand temptation, only stand with Him and seek after Him.
