Book Related, I think it's neat, My Writing Journey, Other Authors

The 7/7/7 Challenge!

I came across this fun challenge on The Elusive Dreamer, E. Rawls’ lovely blog.
To complete the 7/7/7 Challenge, writers need to share 7 sentences from their WIP (Work in Progress), starting at the 7th line of their WIP’s seventh page. But if those sentences make no sense at all, or you don’t feel comfortable with them, you can start from the 7th chapter instead! So:

7/7/7
(7th page/7th line/7 sentences counting from the line)
or
7/7/7/7
(7th chapter/7th page/7th line/7 sentences counting from the line)

I can’t help myself and will be doing both! I probably shouldn’t bend the rules, but my excitement is building every day as I get closer to publishing. 😀

Everyone is welcome to accept the challenge and participate! Please comment below so we can all know and look forward to your 7/7/7.

Here is 7/7/7 (page/line/sentences): Caityn & her brother Adair

She knew in her heart of hearts this man was the one she desired to be with for the rest of her life. High Prince or servant of a king—it didn’t matter.

#

Her door stood slightly ajar. Adair gave a brief wrap on it, but received no response. He pushed the door open on silent hinges and leaned on the doorframe, admiring his younger sister. Caityn’s head was bent in quiet prayer. He Smiled.

And here is 7/7/7/7 (chapter/page/line/sentences): Queen Ismene & her daughter Caityn

“. . . We have such scant magic in our world, but this is certainly something evil.”

“Who’s done this to me? How? Oh, what is to become of me?” Caityn collapsed onto the stool in front of the vanity. “I’m so ugly!”

“I-I don’t know. . . .”

Oh, the drama! 🙂

What do you think of these experts? Does either one make you want to read the book? And as my friend, E. Rawls, put it: Join the challenge and comment below! I look forward to reading your 7/7/7 or 7/7/7/7 challenge!

  1. The more I read these little crumbs and tastes of your book, the more I’m looking forward to reading it! 😀
Heheh, sneaky sneaky doing both 7/7/7 and 7/7/7/7 😉 But it does give us even more insight, which I like!

  2. IF I have this right, it is——Even after we had moved to Idaho and I was doing the milk tools
in the milk house after night milking, I felt like THEY were watching me.
