  1. I noticed that other people seem to have put a genre on their posts this week. is that something we’re supposed to be doing now? Did I miss that somehow?

    1. Yeah, i put a post up on Monday that talked a little about it. I am trying something new, but don’t worry, I already know where Layla and Winter go. 😉

      1. Ah. I missed that one. I’ll put the genre at the top of my next post anyway. 🙂

  2. Quick question. So we know “legumes” of some sort is the word for next week. Is there anything stopping us from starting our idea for the next story? I’ve jotted down some dialogue and quick details, but I didn’t know if this is supposed to be a “start when the new battle is announced” thing.

    1. Great question! We only post on Tuesdays but you are welcome to start your story as soon as the next word comes available. Or there is the option I tend to go with: procrastination. 😉

  3. I sure hate that the Romance Genre is empty, you know that would have been my slot lol. I was so close to getting something together this week, but with school starting my time and my mind are occupied by that. Hope to be back at it next week…but what the heck are legumes? 🙂 Hope I can at least get to read the stories this week, missed out on that last week :(.

    1. A legume is a perfume specifically designed for the feet…isn’t it?

      1. Err, actually I believe it’s a type of bean. Peanuts, peas, etc. 🙂

            1. Puns make the world go round. They are a common language of nerdery. 😉

    2. I hoped you’d give us a Romance this week! 😉 That’s okay. We’re back to school next week. I’m not looking forward to it. Haha Legumes are basically pod plants…peas, beans, that sort of thing. Good luck! Ha

  4. Hi I love the genre layout but I have to admit I struggle with cataloging. Is there a limit to the number of entries you can do I have a “cute” lil flashfiction inspired by the theme on my blog.

    1. I understand. Many stories could fit under more than one genre category, so picking the most obvious one is all I’d like. It’s only one entry per week, but just let me know which you’d prefer to use since you posted both yesterday. 🙂

      1. Oh…well, The Dude is his OWN genre, then, don’t you think?

I have absolutely no idea what category these stories fit. Certainly not military fiction, definitely not suspense, and while it’s about a sort of love, I don’t think romance gives quite the right impression…

Inspirational, I guess. That will have to do.

        1. That was my first thought, but wanted to check with you. I didn’t want to get to technical with genre categories, but I wanted to give the battle some kind of organization. We’ll see how it goes. I’m always inspired by your stories and yourself. ❤

          1. Rachael, thank you so much…you may want to know that today was both trying and rather frightening. I was not sure I would make it to now, alive.

I’ve rallied to give The Dude another story to tell; God gave me the strength, but I’m bleeding internally, and must get horizontal soon.

You can speak for me on choice of genre anytime…and on other things, too. In our brief acquaintance, I have learned that you are a woman of honour. I trust you.

            1. Oh, Andrew! I think about you daily and I’m so thankful that our paths have crossed. You go get some rest. The Dude will forever live in my heart and mind. I feel incredibly blessed to have you a part of the battles and sharing these stories with us. ❤

  6. I like what you are doing with separating the genres. Alas, I shall have to bow out this week. I got a little behind on other things today and need to play catch up. Not complaining. Everything happens for a reason! Cheers! 😀

      1. Awww thank you. I have to finish another chapter and get some reading done that I should have done hours ago…sigh. I will definitely have something for Legumes. Curious word to use for creative inspiration.
