Hi Sarah! Congrats on The Resistance winning the Troop Blog Battle last week and Legumes this week! So exciting. I’m glad you could stop by. It’s a battle tradition to interview the winner of a battle, especially on your first win, but now you’ve had two in a row. Everyone is dying to know more about you!
Everyone, meet Sarah Brentyn.
As you can see, she’s a book person. She’s still a bit of a newbie to the battles, but a most welcome addition. We are thrilled to have her and her story-filled brain in the mix.
Now, Sarah, let’s get on with the questions!
1) Mom-work is hard work! You know; you’ve got two of the little sprites. What is something positive you’ve learned about yourself since having kids? Why does that stand out?
Aw. You called them ‘sprites’. You’re sweet. I would have said ‘imps’ but apparently you’re nicer than I am. You couldn’t have asked me what negative things I’ve learned about myself since having kids? Because I can think of a dozen. Positive? I’ve learned I can function on less sleep than I ever thought possible. Also, if you mess with one of my kids, I turn into The Hulk. Which I count as a positive.
Both are positives, and I bet there’s a lot more where that came from. It’s funny how parenting really points that mirror back at us. 🙂
2) Writing is obviously something you enjoy since you do it regularly, not to mention having taught it. When you write, what is the most inspiring place you like to go to do it? What do you use to write there? How often have you been able to go there?
I used to sit by a lake near my house. It was gorgeous. And I’d use this thing called a pen. And paper. I know, right? I’m that old. How often do I go there? Let’s see. My oldest is eleven now so that would be…eleven years ago. Now I write wherever and whenever I can, using my laptop, phone, post-it notes, receipts, the back of my kids’ homework…whatever I can get my hands on when inspiration strikes.
haha Oh, life! How you change, an ebb and flow in the current of our days. I know exactly what you mean. When inspiration strikes, it’s good to have a tool, any tool, to fight back with . . . er . . . I mean, capture it. 🙂
3) (this is an important question. Some would argue the most important question.) An alien comes to your house, all green and gooey, and asks you to trade your entire wardrobe, which you could never replace with any other piece of clothing ever, for a chance to travel through the galaxy. Would you take it? Why?
Of course. Does that make me a galaxy hitchhiker? Because, technically, the alien offered me this trip. Either way I’d totally go because…traveling the galaxy. And I always carry a towel. I’m a frood who really knows where her towel is, you know? Maybe I could start a toga trend upon my return.
Haha That’s quite clever, pulling out a towel since it’s not technically clothing. haha Nice. If I can come with I’ll join in the toga trend as well. I’ve never hear this word, frood, though! What is a frood. I’ve got prude, but what in the universe is a frood? 🙂 We’ll just have to keep guessing since we’re all out of time, but It was a pleasure to get to know you better, Sarah!
Congrats on your double win!
And thank you all for stopping by today to hang out with Sarah and I.
❤
