Leviathan (/lᵻˈvaɪ.əθən/; Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן, Modern Livyatan, Tiberian Liwyāṯān ; “twisted, coiled”) is a sea monster referenced in the Tanakh, or the Old Testament. This word has become synonymous with any large sea monster or creature.
