It’s coming up fast! CWWH2017 is almost here.
I live in the beautiful Spokane (SPO-can) Washington area, and I’m thrilled about this writers conference that’s coming to my city! It’s called Connecting Writers with Hollywood and if you want a different taste of the Pacific Northwest, you should plan on coming. This is for published and unpublished writers, whether you are looking to connect with Hollywood or just extend your writing knowledge and connections.
Here’re some beautiful views (photos taken by me and don’t do it justice) of the Inland Northwest that you’ve been missing out on all your life:
The conference is going on May 25th – 27th, 2017, so you need to register soon! There are some pitch sessions still available, if you’re interested.
Some of the sessions will include: Women in Film, The Successful Writer, Heather Morado (Law & Intellectual Property), What’s Trending in Hollywood, and more!
The price is incredibly reasonable, and the hotel where CWWH is happening is the beautiful historic Davenport hotel. It’s a Spokane treasure and landmark. (There is a special conference rate for rooms, so if you call, make sure to ask for the Connecting Writers with Hollywood rate!)
You’ll be close to the well-known indie bookstore, Auntie’s, in downtown Spokane and the gorgeous Spokane River is only a short walk away. Plus, I’m here! And I’d love to meet you at CWWH!
Check out the FAQs about the conference, answering all your basic questions.
Do I need to be a published writer in order to attend? Absolutely not. A writer at any stage of their career is encouraged to attend. While some producers are seeking material which can be adapted, others are seeking straight up a story, published or not. Screenwriters, this applies to you as well. And if you’re a beginner, the educational aspects and connections from the conference automatically provide you with a great advantage.
Chuck Palahniuk (author, Fight Club)
Brian Bird (screenwriter, producer of Captive (2015), When Calls the Heart (in 3rd season), and more)
Megan Griffiths (director); Mark Steilen (Mind Rifle Films, Inc); Mel Eslyn (indie filmmaker); Mike Dill (producer – literary mgr); Kim Honrsby (speaker – author); Lacey Leavitt (producer); Mischa Jakupcak (writer – producer); Angela Breidenbach (author – speaker); Sandra Bishop (Transatlantic Agency); and the Emcee: Jan Cline!

JD Dewitt (Co-founder of ISE) – From Inkslinger Entertainment:
“With an eye for quality work and an awareness of what’s trending in the entertainment industry, JD acquires material for ISE (primarily through attending writer’s conferences). As a former literary and talent agent, JD consults with creative individuals and helps facilitate in preparing their material to submit to ISE’s studio contacts.
As a natural advocate for authors, JD’s goal is to connect writers with Hollywood.”
