Thanks for the Reviews!

Back in March, I offered all my books for free through Smashwords and asked for reviews on Amazon. I said that everyone who reviewed within a certain window of time would be entered to win a $15 Amazon US gift card. Well, here are the reviews!

I’m sorry for the delay in announcing the random review winner. The winner of this gift card is Barb Miller. She was chosen after assigning each review a number then using to pick the winner.

Another Thank You

I decided I want to say thank you to everyone who reviews my books on Amazon US, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords by doing another $15 Amazon US gift card random drawing. If you have read any of the books but haven’t had an opportunity to review them, now’s your chance! I’ll do this drawing from ALL the reviews (except Barb who has already read and won today) I find on the above mentioned websites on July 4th.

I am just so thankful to you for taking the time to read my book, and on top of that, the effort it takes to review.

The Beauty Thief ExcerptThe Beauty Thief NEW web cover 3

Good book. Full of action and suspense. Loved the plot and characters. Caitlyn was not only beautiful outside but inside. Once that inner beauty was taking she behaved abysmally towards everyone including her loved ones. Part of that inner beauty held hope and with the loss of hope she didn’t see a need to change and search for a means to break the curse. She just didn’t care. Thankfully there were others who did and they pushed forward even through her rudeness and thoughtlessness to find what was needed to save her. I really enjoyed reading this story and I can’t wait to read the next. It was definitely worth reading.

I got this book through InstaFreebie and I really wanted to like it. The plot idea was good and I really liked that inner beauty was portrait as the real treasure whereas outer beauty was just a nice bonus.
However, this was also the part where the author tried too hard in my opinion. She tries to show how Caity, although she regains her outer beauty, still is a crippled character and suffers from it. But this is so often repeated that it becomes heavy-handed. On top of that, the author drives home her religious belief with a club. I’m a Christian myself, but in many parts I got the feeling that the plot just serves as a background story to highlight how a “good” and “faithful” person should act – aka trust in God. This on top of the clean writing made the story “squeak.” Even when I was a teenager this would have been too moralizing for me.

Captive Hope ExcerptCaptive Hope APRIL 2017 web cover

A good read with a twist at the end. There is a sort of love triangle witch is resolve in this book and it is not what you expect and more realistic compared to other books with the sort of thing.
If you love fairy tales, a realistic romance and a touch of tragedy, then I recommend Captive Hope!

I enjoyed it. I received a free copy and voluntarily decided to review

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Favorite characters return! A good sequel.

A good sequel following Captive Hope and where Idra and Sir Ahmad left off. There was the surprise return of a certain villain from book one that I loved, and I can’t wait to see where book four leads to with that! A lot happens in this book, but the ending is such a nice conclusion that it makes following Idra’s journey worth it! Anyone who is a fan of Captive Hope will love this.

    1. It’s super easy through Smashwords. The only glitch is if people aren’t signed up for their website, they have to do that first. But it’s also FREEEEE! 🙂 I will say that I had a lot of downloads, but not even 10% of those downloads resulted in actual reviews. Oh well! Was worth a shot. Just so thankful for the people who did take the time to review!

    1. Thanks, Simon. The books are definitely geared toward an audience of young women, but depending on what one expects, I think most anyone can enjoy the stories. They’re getting better and more complicated the further into the series we go. 🙂
