…was a strange year on so many levels. I didn’t get the next novel in Chronicles written, but I finished a good portion of the prequel. I accomplished a fair amount of design and formatting for other indie authors, and FINALLY completed The Beauty Thief: Story Book!
And I gotta say, the illustrations by author/illustrator Jessica Hecket are perfect.
Barnes & Noble or Amazon have it if you want to get this fab young readers illustrated adaptation of The Beauty Thief! 🙂
Aside from writer-life, I kept busy with mom-life. The biggest change involved my youngest who was really struggling in school. December 2016 left us with a tough decision, but January 2017 we took the plunge into homeschool for her. It takes up a ton of time, but the change has been worth it. She’s doing so much better with school and her anxiety levels have dropped considerably. And I’ve got to be honest, there’s a teacher livin’ inside this mama…if you hadn’t noticed.
Oh, and I designed myself this fun logo! It looks super cool on a mug, and I can’t wait to put it on a t-shirt!
…is lined up to be an eventful year in my writing life. I plan to finish this prequel and the fourth book in Chronicles of the Twelve Realms. I have a script that I outlined last year but haven’t had time to write yet, so that’s on the burner. I want to keep designing and formatting, so I hope to have more of that work over the year, too. And then there are all these other story ideas…
One BIG thing that’s coming up that involves you
…is that Writing Contest I mentioned back in November. I’ve been trying to get everything together so that I can host this thing right, and I think I’m about there. I’d like to round up one more published author judge for the contest, but tomorrow I’ll give you the rules and information about the contest. I’ll post the “inspiration” picture, and you can get started! The contest won’t officially open until February 26th, 2018, and you’ll even have a couple weeks after that within which to get your entry in, but I hope this will give you plenty of time to write.
So, come back tomorrow for the rundown on the contest!
I hope 2018 is a year of growth and joy for you! Here’s to the new year!
