Wednesday Update & Cover Reveal

This is today’s newsletter (I won’t always post these here too, but in case you want to subscribe over at https://substack.com/@rachaelritchey you’ll always get it right to your inbox). It is going to be mostly short!

For some reason, this past week has just been crazy busy and packed full of activities. I’ve got several client projects I’m working on. Nothing major or really worth waxing poetic about, but a couple of cover designs and several interior formatting jobs that are mostly basic work.

I did get to design a Pegasus crest for a fellow author that I’m still tweaking. I shared an unfinished version of it on my IG asking for a little feedback.

Here it is, if you want to see it: Visit me IG @rachaelritchey

It’s actually quite a bit different in the actual cover design I’m working on, and that crown will be replaced with something else on the bottom eventually. Keep in mind, the text and style of font on the bottom is NOT part of the crest. I would love if you peeked at the Instagram post and gave feedback about the book genre you think the crest could be for.

I’m waiting to hear that a couple of my clients have published their books, because I want to share more about them, but I don’t want to do it before you can actually check out the books themselves, if you are interested! So I hope that’ll happen soon.

Oh! A client from about four years ago who I did a magazine-style book design for (it’s about running a daycare) reached out this week and has got some new books in the works! I’m excited to work with her again!

Anyway, other than needing to buckle down and focus, there are, of course, books to be read, and a bedtime to try to stick to as I attempt to fix my sleep schedule back to something more manageable.

The only other thing my brain can think that I really wanted to share this week is this:

A COVER REVEAL

Book Three of The Katrosi Revolution by Jamie Foley

Isn’t that pretty!

Thrones have been toppled and battles won, but the war of the gods is only just beginning.

The heir to the wolf-tyrant

Faced with a heritage of violence, Rhu Sousuke lives in defiance of his father’s evil—and his inherited attraction to elemental power.

His adoptive father offers a better path. But with the blood of false gods burning through his veins, can Sousuke harness enough power to protect Imperial Princess Vylia and simultaneously resist the temptation that corrupted his ancestors?

The Jade Witch

The Darkwood seek justice for their fallen kin. Together at last but on the run, Brooke and Lysander flee Jadenvive in the midst of political turmoil. Determined to aid her people even while facing rejection, Brooke choses to trust Felix’s directive to locate Lillian’s ancient vault and steal her most prized possession: the future-seeing dreamcatcher.

The lady god-slayer

Kira found everything she never knew she wanted. Now, the choice remains: hide with Ryon and pray for the war to end favorably, or risk it all to do what is right.

This series is YA Fantasy with some no spice romance and suspense, available from Fayette Press.

Here’s the whole series:

I haven’t read any of these yet, but Emberhawk is sitting on my Kindle somewhere just waiting for me! The whole series sounds pretty epic, though.

Oh! Don’t forget The Sol-lumieth by Morgan Wylie comes out in two weeks on August 1st! Celebrate with me! 😀

The first four books are available now, and The Sol-lumieth is up for preorder too!

Beyond this, I am just making it through every day with a thankful heart and a lot on my plate! BUT I always have time to pray, so if there is anything I can pray for you about, please reach out!

Much love and gratitude,

~ Rachael
