That would be me, Rachael Ritchey.
I suppose the easiest way to introduce myself to you would be to share 12 Random Facts about me.
I’m in my mid-thirties with a sweet family. We make six.
I like both tomatoes and ketchup. Not always at the same time, mind you, but it is not an either/or situation for me.
I am an author of YA (young adult) fantasy fiction. I think they read much like historical fiction with a slight fantasy twist.
My hair is naturally curly but in the morning it appears as though snakes have sprouted from my head, giving me that Medusa look so many people are going for these days . . . or not.
Like others, I forget to eat regular meals when I write.
I have been known to wear socks with my sandals. When there’s no snow, one can get away with it where I live. Well, you can’t if you’re afraid of the fashion police. I am not afraid.
I may have spent just as many hours pouring over cover design for my first book as I did in writing and editing. The cover for The Beauty Thief turned out very nice!
Being a mom means that I am well versed in the clean-up of every grimy, gross, or otherwise disgusting bodily fluid, be it–no, you don’t need a graphic description. I’m sure you catch my drift.
Mealtime is supposed to be a nice family affair, but I often find myself cringing at the terrible manners we all have while we talk around bites of food. And yet, I am thankful to have the opportunity to tell each of them, “Chew with your mouth closed.” Family-time is a gift.
I’m a big Doctor Who fan (but don’t quiz me, because I just love and don’t memorize it).
I love to drive a manual transmission car. I love driving 4×4 trucks even more.
I wish the Twelve Realms were real so that I could go there. This is the problem with creating or adoring a world of fantasy. *sigh*
