        Is spaghetti really the word?

LOL Yes, Andrew. The list of words is totally random (I have two actually, one is a verb list. I might pull from it next week). I have one of my kids give me a number between 1 and however many words are on the list and that’s the word we use for the next week. Have fun with it! 🙂

On another note, how are you feeling? Have you gotten any more rest in the last couple days?

Rachael, thanks…I’m hanging in there. Past few days have been a bit over-the-top, as in I don’t know what to DO!

But there is still joy, because joy is a choice.

And spaghetti…it’s actually the perfect word for this week!

Joy is a beautiful choice! ♡ I’m looking forward to reading the perfect spaghetti word story. 🙂

Composed and confident, me? *beaming happily* Why, yes, of course. *ahem* I don’t get nervous at all. E-even speaking in front of a crowd is easy, and I t-t-talk about my book to people with c-confidence! My brain n-never goes into a scramble…scram-amble…scr…mble….. *Technical difficulties. That’s all it is* 😉

How about a Mess of Grace and Poise?

Me, I’m just a mess, scrambling to keep up, and not faint into the keyboard too often. Between dogs and airplane parts and ammunition and stacks of books, my surroundings are…well, tailor-made for my personality.

              And as I re-read that, it’s SCARY!

I like that, Andrew! I hope it’s true. 😉 and I agree! haha, that description is a little scary and yet there’s something so reassuring about it, too. Why the airplane parts?

Yep, Scary, especially since Ladron the heeler (and chief service dog) has been awake for three days (because I have, too…rather severe pain, etc.). A wired, sleep-deprived female Heeler is like a bossy teenage girl in a bad mood.

Airplane parts…I’ve had the avocation of restoring old airplanes…and building new ones from blueprints and raw materials…for years. I can’t really get to the shop on the bottom of the property any more, so most of the tools are…you guessed it…in the house, along with finished components. It’s part of what keeps me alive, I think, working on my own project (I do a lot for friends) that takes my labour and a part of my heart into a future that the doctors think I will not see. I am working on the assumption that I will survive to finish it, and will get better, to fly it. I can’t do much work these days, but I try to at least touch the stuff every day.

I think of it as positive thinking in action, seeing tomorrow because I WANT to. There are those – some quite close – who would have me accept the “inevitable” and give up, sparing myself the expenditure of energy.

But for what does one save oneself? Better to die, if it comes down to that, working toward a goal, living a dream.

I love heelers. We had a male blue heeler when I was growing up. Slider was his name. He was such a great dog, but I can totally imagine what you say about yours. haha They can get pretty crazy. I’m sorry you’re in so much pain, though. 😦 I hope miss Heeler has been more comfort than commotion.
I look forward to seeing you fly that plane you’re working on for yourself. 🙂 Keep at it and live the dream.

I love Heelers, too. In the thumbnail is Emily, Ladron’s predecessor. Emily was deaf, and understood ASL quite well; Ladron knows some.

Never out of the fight; and when first flight comes around, I’ll send you a ticket to come to NM – if you’d like – and see it. Also to autograph the side with an indelible marker, because it’s friends that carry me through the dark places, until I can see to work again.

In our short acquaintance, you’ve done that. Your encouragement and kindness have made a measurable difference in my life, and for that – thanks, Rachael.

That’s amazing! Makes me love the breed even more. ❤

It would be an amazing pleasure and privilege to watch you fly it in person, Andrew. 🙂 I'm incredibly humbled knowing I've made any difference. Truly. My heart is hurting for you, knowing you are suffering. But you are so strong and encouraging in the midst. Your strength of will is inspiring.
