Dr. Trace

Dr. Trace

by Bekah

Detectives Mark Quadrant and Lucy Vogel entered the lab and started to get a close look around. They found a man sleeping in one room with his face on a stack of papers and drool dripping from his mouth. “Um excuse me, sir. . .?” Vogel asked and stepped closer towards the man. “We’re looking for Dr. Trace.”

The man immediately raised his head up and looked at them. “You’re looking at him,” the man replied while having sheets of paper stuck to his left cheek.

Quadrant made a small laugh then took the paper off the man’s face. “Well Dr. Trace, you discover anything about sleep?” He chipped and looked up and down at Dr. Trace.

Dr. Trace took the papers violently out of Quadrant’s hand, and Vogel even gave Mark a exaggerated expression.

“Sorry Dr. Trace, my partner here doesn’t seem to have manners,” Vogel said and gave Quadrant a glare.

“Well, Detective Vogel, what can I do for you today?” Dr. Trace replied and completely ignored Quadrant.

“Well . . .” she began and pushed Quadrant out of the room and shut the door. “We found a trace of some residue at a crime scene and were wondering if you could trace it back?”

She handed him the contained residue, turned around to stick her tongue out at Mark, then looked calmly back at Trace.

“I will do this for you Vogel, but I have one question,” Dr. Trace started. “How childish can you detectives be?” Then he looked hard at Quadrant and Vogel.

“Well . . . um . . .” Vogel tried to answer then Quadrant came in for her.

“Yes Dr. Trace we are childish and need the trace done. How long?” Quadrant quickly replied.

“Give me a few hours, for you kids to go get mature!” Dr. Trace yelped at them, and they quickly made their way out the door.

“Children.”

  4. love the pages stuck to his face, that really brought the scene to life. You also managed to have me confused until the very end about what this scene was about, and when he said “children” it all made sense! lol that was great!
